Procedure:

   - Weigh a specified amount of the sample (usually around 6-20 grams, depending on the type of meter and material).
   - Place the sample in the pressure vessel.

2. Adding Reactant:
   - Add a measured amount of calcium carbide to the pressure vessel.
   - Usually, calcium carbide is provided in sealed containers or capsules to ensure accurate measurement and safe handling.

3. Sealing the Vessel:
   - Securely seal the pressure vessel to prevent gas leakage.

4. Mixing:
   - Shake the pressure vessel vigorously for a specified period (typically a few minutes).
   - The steel balls help to break up the sample and ensure thorough mixing of the sample and reactant.

5. Reading the Pressure Gauge:
   - As the calcium carbide reacts with the moisture in the sample, acetylene gas is generated, increasing the pressure inside the vessel.
   - The pressure gauge displays the pressure, which is then converted to moisture content using a calibration chart or conversion table provided with the meter.
